Mission Statement

Community Development's mission is to provide an integrated system of resources, services and opportunities to help people improve their lives, the lives of others, neighborhoods and the total community.

Work is performed under the Director of General Services.

Departmental Services

The Office of Community Development (OCD ) offers continuous dedication to our community through coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining a centralized database of all grants and grant projects for the County. OCD also assists the Departments and Grant Consultants in the acquisition, implementation, and administration of grant programs. Housing assistance programs are offered to the citizens of Hardee County.

First Time Home Buyer Program

Purchase assistance, to aid with closing cost and down payment, is provided to First Time Home Buyers whose household income is in the low to moderate income range.

Fair Housing

Federal Law prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or familial status when renting, selling or financing a home or property.
